NESS
Seminar Series
Neuromorphic Engineering Students' Society (NESS)
is a group of CNSE graduate students who meet on a weekly basis
to share their research results, listen to CNSE-related guest speakers,
and interact soci ally.
The students meet for lunch every week, and have the opportunity to
discuss their research and to establish cross-disciplinary ties for
future collaborative research projects. The
2006-2007 co-presidents of NESS are Tamara
Knutsen, Alice Robie, and Michael
Wolf.
In addition to their weekly lecture series, the NESS students spent a summer
evening at the movies seeing "I, Robot," brainstormed
about what a NASA Grand Challenge might look like, went ocean kayaking during
their annual retreat in Santa Barbara and went on a tour of Disney R & D
followed by lunch at a Brazilian restaurant. The students have formed a close
supportive network which will be useful both during their time at Caltech
and once they move on to careers in science and engineering.
